Yes. Same time. Same Day. All programs run on set start dates, so it isn’t possible to move into another session. Each course follows a structured schedule to support consistency and progression for both you and your puppy.

All puppies must have received their first vaccination at least 10 days prior to commencing training and must remain up to date with their recommended vaccination schedule. Dogs over 16 weeks of age are required to have a current C5 vaccination (or equivalent) administered within the past 12 months. Proof of vaccination must be provided prior to, or at, your first training session.

Even in our small-group classes, some dogs can find a training environment with other dogs challenging. For group sessions to be productive, your dog should be able to settle from excitement within a minute or two with guidance. If this feels like it may be an ongoing struggle, we recommend starting with one or two private sessions to build foundational skills and give you practical strategies before transitioning into a class setting. In some cases, ongoing private training may be the most supportive option. High levels of over-arousal or reactivity can make group classes stressful for both you and your dog, which can limit progress. Our priority is ensuring every session is positive, productive, and genuinely beneficial — and my dog, Theo can be included in private sessions so your dog still learns to work calmly around others.

For the best learning outcome, we generally recommend no more than two handlers per dog in each class. This helps maintain consistency in communication and reduces unnecessary confusion and distractions during training. Dog Days Training & Adventure is a family-friendly business, and children are welcome to attend and observe if you’d like them involved in the learning process. For everyone’s safety and comfort, children must remain with their family and should not approach or interact with other dogs, as some may be nervous in a class environment.

Please bring your dog on the walking equipment you currently use, with the exception of retractable leads. Ensure you also bring your training bag, as you may be asked to swap to a flat collar during the session, depending on the skills being taught that day.

Not your Sunday best! Dog training is an active, hands-on process, so we recommend wearing comfortable clothing, closed shoes or sneakers, and choosing outfits with pockets for ease during sessions.

We’re unable to offer alternative class times, so please ensure you’re available for the full duration of the program before enrolling. While we can provide brief notes and a short catch-up session prior to your next class if needed, training is most effective — and most enjoyable — when you’re able to attend every session.

You’ll need to attend sessions with your dog, as training is about developing you as the handler/owner just as much as it is about your dog. Our focus is on building clear communication and a strong relationship, so you have the skills to continue training and supporting your dog long after the program ends. When training is done only by a third party and then handed back, progress often breaks down — dogs quickly recognise differences in handling and consistency, which can affect reliability.

Every dog and handler comes to training with different needs, experiences, and expectations. Factors such as your dog’s temperament and genetics, your current skill set as a handler, and what you’re hoping to achieve all influence the type and amount of training required. Our foundation programs provide strong, practical skills that set you up to begin developing your dog across all key areas. For some clients, this level is enough; others choose to progress through Level 2 or Level 3 to build higher levels of reliability, including more advanced off-lead skills. If you’re unsure which level is right for you, we recommend contacting us before enrolling so we can help set clear, realistic expectations.

We strongly advise against on-lead meet and greets before, during, or after class. On-lead interactions can be stressful and unpredictable, and if a dog feels uncomfortable while restrained, incidents can occur that can set both dogs back in their training. Our programs are focused on building a strong dog–owner relationship and teaching your dog to choose you, even in the presence of other dogs. Many behavioural challenges in adolescent dogs stem from placing too much value on other dogs, which can make training in public spaces far more difficult. Developing reliable recall and focus is a direct result of clear communication, consistency, and a strong relationship — not social interaction during class. One of the key benefits of training with Dog Days T&A is learning how to build calm engagement around other dogs without direct interaction. We’ll guide you on how to socialise your dog safely outside of class, but during sessions, dogs remain separated so everyone can train effectively.
